Food Waste Action Week
In March each year we focus the world’s attention on an important but often unseen climate change issue: food waste.

Food Waste Action Week 2023
The UK’s biggest annual food waste reduction campaign is back!
Food Waste Action Week 2023 takes place 6th - 12th March with the theme: Win. Don’t Bin. We will be showing how you can save time and money by making the most of the food you buy.
With a bit of forward planning here, and a dash of savvy storage there; you can enjoy those little winning moments in life of having tomorrow’s lunch sorted the night before, or defrosting that spare portion of spag bol for a quick and easy dinner.
Take part in Food Waste Action Week 2023
There are many ways to get involved. The best thing to do is to follow us on social media and sign up to our newsletter: you’ll be the first to hear about our plans and get some great food-saving tips in your feeds and in your inbox!
If you work for a brand, community group or any other organisation that would like to get involved with Food Waste Action Week, we’d love to hear from you.
Highlights from Food Waste Action Week 2022
Supported by 80 organisations, across 12 countries, over 8 million people heard about the food waste issue that week. Nearly 55% of these people took action to reduce the amount of food they bin at home as a result.

Love Food Hate Waste's recipe for climate action: research, expertise and a love of food to help you save food from the bin.

Let's be realistic: sometimes we are so busy that thinking about how to save food at home often falls to the bottom of our list. Instead of trying to overhaul your food habits in one day, let's take action together in bite-sized chunks.
